Information you give us

Waitlist, creator, mentor and contact forms

Depending on the form, we collect your name, email address, role, organisation, expertise, experience, profile and sample links, topic and message. These details are sent to our team through the same enquiry service as the enquiry form so we can review your request.

Enquiry form

When you use the enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number and message. Our shared enquiry service sends these details to our team by email, keeps a copy in our internal enquiry inbox and sends you a confirmation email from notify@smartlyup.com.

Updates

If you subscribe for updates in the footer, we collect your email address to send occasional updates about SmartlyUp. You can ask us to stop at any time.

Information collected automatically

Hosting and security

This website runs on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this information only for security and reliability.

UX analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our public pages through heatmaps and session recordings. Text typed into forms and editable fields is masked before recording, and pages with query strings, sign-in or account areas are not recorded. Clarity sets first-party cookies (_clck and _clsk). Recordings are on by default; you can turn them off at any time with the analytics preferences shown at the bottom of each page, and your choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

How we use your information

We use your information to reply to you, share information you asked for, send updates you subscribed to, and keep this website secure and working well. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run this website, namely Cloudflare (hosting, security and email delivery) and Microsoft (Clarity analytics), and where the law requires it. These providers may process data outside India.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and subscription details for as long as we need them to respond, follow up and keep business records. We delete them when they are no longer needed or when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you can ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, correct or update it, have it erased, withdraw your consent and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that has already taken place.

Grievance Officer

For privacy requests or complaints, email our Grievance Officer at hello@smartlyup.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We acknowledge requests within 2 working days and aim to resolve them within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This website is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian before sending us your details.
